Samer Ellahham, MD, EFQM, FACP, FACC
Dr. Samer Ellahham is Chief Quality Officer of SKMC, managed by Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Abu Dhabi, UAE. He is currently on the Executive Team of The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Dr. Ellahham received his Medical Degree from the American University of Beirut School of Medicine in Beirut, Lebanon. Dr. Ellahham completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Ellahham then completed his Fellowship in Cardiology at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia.

He is certified as EFQM 2013 Model assessor and is leading EFQM Excellence Model at SKMC. He is a Certified Lean Healthcare Practitioner and is Lean Six Sigma Black Belted. Dr. Ellahham is the Middle East Representative of the JCI Standards Subcommittee and Member on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety.

He is panel member of JCI fifth edition writing group. He is reviewer of HCAC Cardiac Quality and Safety Standards. Dr Ellahham is the Leader of the First Pilot International Robust Process Improvement (RPI) project by the Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare at SKMC. He led the First AHA GWTG Heart Failure Initiative outside US. He is the Executive Sponsor of the First Multispecialty National Quality Surgical Improvement Program (NSQIP) outside the US.

Dr. Ellahham is an avid researcher; his research includes lean six sigma, safety, outcome research, excellence models, change management, robust performance improvement, infection control, heart failure, hypertension, venous disorder, diabetes mellitus, antiplatelet therapy, acute coronary syndromes, metabolic syndrome, obesity, vascular biology, vascular medicine and dyslipidemia.

Mohamed is a certified Quality Engineer by the American Society for Quality (ASQ), Associate Value Specialist by SAVE International. He holds a level 1 Risk Qualification from Association of Project Manageress (APM), a certificate in Safety Management, and a Diploma in workplace & live plant occupational Safety and Health from the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP).

I have many training courses in areas of Project Management, Quality, Risk, Safety, Environment, Contracts and Value Engineering.

Mohamed is working as a Project Manager with distinguished and proven track record of delivering high-end development programs. With 18 years of solid and diversified Project/Construction/Quality Management experience in managing Design and Construction of mega Buildings, Heavy Construction, and Specialized Industrial Projects.

Community Service:
Mohamed is active in doing Voluntary works. He is acting as the Country Counselor for the American Society for Quality (ASQ) to Qatar since 2010 to date. He is the Founder Chairman of ASQ’s Qatar Local Membership Community. Through these 2 rules, he is assisting professionals, who are passionate about Quality, to gain technical knowledge and skills through providing them with educational seminars; trainings and workshops and also help them to prepare for gaining ASQ’s certifications.

In 2011, Mohamed was named by the American Society for Quality as one of the “40 New Voices of Quality” – an exclusive list of 40 quality professionals making a significant impact on the profession.

Mohamed holds a life-time membership of Golden Key International Honor Society. Nancy is an accomplished Business Excellence and Total Quality Management professional. She has over 15 years of experience; 10 in the food sector and 5 in scientific researches in an academic environment, with a proven record of significant contributions.

In her current job as AVP- Quality, Safety & Performance Excellence at a Leading Food Services Management Company in UAE, Nancy leads improvement projects through innovative and integrated approaches to achieve service and business excellence and sustain the competitiveness of the organization. She has expertise in strategy deployment, business excellence models, continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Kaizen, VSM etc.), CSR and ISO standards and auditing (ISO 22000, 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001). A talented coach and trainer, well versed in leading teams and transferring knowledge across the organization.

As a team leader and sr. assessor for Dubai Quality Award (6 cycles) and assessor for Mohammed Bin Rashid Business Excellence Award, she conducted assessments for various companies in the Construction, Healthcare, Educational, Services, Transport and Retail Sectors.

Nancy has been awarded with the Testimonial Leadership Award from ASQ in 2014 for “her valuable contribution in raising ASQ’s profile and the Voice of Quality in UAE, and providing leadership to members and organizing ASQ activities in UAE including World Quality Day Celebrations”. Dr. Zeyad El-Kahlout is working as Senior Quality & Excellence Advisor in Dubai Government Excellence Program, The Executive Council, Government of Dubai, UAE. He Holds a PhD in Quality Management (Quality in the design of services) from University of the West of England, Bristol, UK. His Experience and research interests relate to Business Excellence, Quality Management, Knowledge Management, Institutional Integrity, and Productivity. He is an EFQM approved assessor a certified Knowledge Manager, and senior member in the American Society for Quality. Before joining the Executive Council he was an Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean in the Productivity & Quality Institute, Arab Academy for Science & Technology, Alexandria, Egypt.

As an Assistant Professor, he also published tenths of papers and articles, and supervised the research work of many students in the Master's level. In the professional side he contributed and led hundreds of consultancy projects in the areas of development of Quality and Excellence strategies; development, Implementation and Auditing of Quality Management Systems; development and Assessment of Excellence Models & Criteria; and development of strategy maps and performance management systems.
Prof Roy Ramphal

Professor Roy Ramphal is employed at the UNISA School of Business Leadership in South Africa. He is a Chemical Engineer by profession and has been involved for many years in the Sugar, Aluminum and Tyre industries. During this tenure he implemented the first ISO 9001:1987 standard in a food factory in the Southern Hemisphere. He was also involved for implementing and maintaining quality at a University, in a national research institute as well as in customer services during his career so far. As a Professor he is responsible for the curriculation and creation of various operations and quality management qualifications for students and executives. He is also the creator of a quality model for shared services environments.

Professor Roy Ramphal has been with Southern African Society for Quality (SASQ) since 2000. He was a SASQ Johannesburg Branch Chair for 3 years then a Vice President for 2 year and since 2005 is the SASQ national president. He was basically the backbone for the SASQ strategy and the redesign for the SASQ governance structure. He has participated and collaborates with the American Society for Quality, European Organization for Quality, India society for quality and the Canadian society for quality. He has authored various books, articles and subject matter on Quality and Operations Management. He was also the (Southern African Auditor and Training Certification Authority (SAATCA) chairman of the board for three years.
He is a senior member of ASQ, a member of the Institute of Directors, a certified Ethics Officer, a certified professional SHEQ practitioner and fellow of SASQ. He is well respected in the industry and is often consulted for advice by major corporate. He is also funded by the National Research Fund for research relating to quality practitioners.
